Welcome to the Logan Walston Website!
My name is Nicole Walston and I am Logan’s mom. I am a Pharmacist by day and a race mom by night. I decided to put together this website for Logan to help document his racing stats, keep up with racing pictures and videos, while allowing him the opportunity to have a platform to share his racing journey with others. His story is one that almost any racing family can relate with.
We are a family of three that live in Paducah, Kentucky. Racing is something everyone in our family loves and grew up around. Race time is family time in our home and yes we are very competitive!
Our family goals are simple. (1) Always put God first, (2) treat others how you would like to be treated, (3) lend a helping hand to anyone in need, (4) success requires hard work and dedication, (5) go fast, turn left, race hard, enjoy the moment, and be humble during the victories.
Logan was born into a family with deep racing roots that started with his grandfather (Larry Walston aka “Frog”) and continued with his dad (Jeff Walston aka “Tadpole”). Racing is something Logan has been around his entire life. It is no surprise that he eats, sleeps and lives for racing.
He grew up watching his dad work on race cars every weeknight at the race shop and has lived almost every weekend of his life at a dirt track. While most children were raised playing in the yard or on a playground, Logan grew up sliding down the hood of his dad’s late model and rolling around in a race car tire.
Logan’s passion for racing grew stronger as he watched his dad race dirt late models in the crate and super divisions. From the time he was able to walk he began helping out at the race shop and enjoyed trying to mimick his dads’ footsteps. While he thought he was just hanging out with dad and the guys working on go-karts and race cars, little did he know he was learning the most important foundational part of what it takes to become successful in...read more.

While he thought he was just hanging out with dad and the guys working on go-karts and race cars, little did he know he was learning the most important foundational part of what it takes to become successful in the world of racing.
Logan’s father Jeff raced for over 30 years. He started at the age of five racing go-karts and eventually moved into stock cars where he raced in the steel block, crate and super late model divisions. He was very talented and blessed with many opportunities to drive for several wonderful people throughout his go-kart and stock car career.
A few memorable highlights of Jeff’s championships include his 2008 UMP Late Model Rookie of the Year, 2008 UMP Kentucky Late Model Championship, 2010 UMP Late Model KY/TN/FL/IN State Championship, 2013 Clarksville Speedway Crate Late Model Track Championship, and the 2014 UMP Pro Late Model South Region Championship.
Some of his favorite moments in racing are the ones after Logan was born which included his 2013 season where he won 22 features from his Crate and Pro Late Models and his 2014 $3,000 Pro Late Model win at KLMS. Logan loved going to victory lane to celebrate with his dad, he enjoyed being part of the racing team and learned a great deal.
Logan got his first go-kart for Christmas just before his third birthday. He spent the next three years practicing and learning the basics of how to race while he continued to watch his dad race and eagerly awaited his turn to start racing. Jeff put his helmet on the shelf at the end of the 2015 summer to devote all of his focus on Logan's racing career.
Logan was 6.5 years-old when he finally talked his dad into retiring and passing down the racing torch. His first year of racing started in a champ-kart and towards the end of that year he added his first racing go-kart to the mix.
Logan's first major sponsor Billy Vandergriff with Showtyme Cuts came aboard near the end of the 2015 racing season. Billy and Brittney Vandergriff sponsored him with a new go-kart, motor, decals and continue to play a major role in Logan's sponsorship. This Vandergriff/Walston sponsorship relationship was not anything new because Vandergriff's dad had sponsored Jeff several years prior when Jeff raced go-karts.
Logan's second major sponsor J.R. Mason with American Trash Service joined in 2019. The Mason/Walston relationship was not anything new either because Jeff drove for J.R.'s parents (Ronnie and Sandy Mason) when he raced late models. Logan spent the first 6 years of his childhood with the Mason family at the race shop and grew up helping on J.R.'s race cars.
Racing is a sport that has definitely made our family larger! We love our race family and it has continued to grow over the years. Anyone that has been around racing for any amount of time knows if you stick around long enough you will become part of the racing family. [show less]
